About Majid
Majid Karami is mainly known for his percussion Instrument Brand Majid Drums. He is building high quality drums for 40 years now, ranging from traditional to his modern and innovative inventions.
His Instruments are used by multiple professional and recognized musicians. With the recent Corona epidemic, Majid found more time to create wooden art pieces and creative gadgets.
He also plans to teach people his professional skills of creating Instruments and Art as well as simple carpenter tipps everyone can use at home.
A passion for woodworking!
Majid was born 1959 in Irans capital Teheran.Already in early age he gained experience in woodworking , operating a small carpentry shop with multiple friends. There he also teached himself how to wood turn. Besides crafting furniture he also started to build traditional Iranian Instruments and after receiving positive feedback by musicians he focussed more on this Art.
How I became a professional music instrument maker
In 1989 Majid moved to Germany and with decades of hard Work he build up his Instrument Brand Majid drums. In Germany he obtained a masters certificate in music making as well as woodturning. In his career Majid worked with renowned musicians and patented 12 unique Instruments he invented, creating himself a name as an instrument maker in festivals and exhibitions. Majid also worked many years in souther Spain, where he learned to speak fluent Spanish.
For the future Majid plans to create a program to teach his professional skills and tricks for the new generation of woodworkers and Instrument makers all over the world.
